will occur. Many have been taught that Gog's invasion of
"the land of unwalled villages" (v. 11) can only happen at
the beginning of the Millennium, after Jesus has returned to
fight against the nations and establish God's peaceful
kingdom on this earth. Others believe that these events are
a more detailed description of the post-millennial attack on
the people of God at the time Satan is "let loose for a
season," described in Rev. 20:7 - 8.
these explanations has been very satisfying, for reasons
that I will not detail here. For me, a more plausible
explanation of Ezekiel 38 is that it pertains to us now, at
the end of this age -- the American people who sit at the
precipice of the Great Tribulation, the "time of Jacob's

cast aside our defenses and have gone out to play -- to
enjoy the good life -- without a thought that the world is
full of predators. We are a people gathered from the
nations, "who have acquired livestock and goods " We are

is "the latter days." This is a time of earth-shattering
earthquakes such as those mentioned in Revelation 6:12, 8:5,
11:13, 11:19, and 16:18.

to possess powerful weapons with which to overwhelm God's
people, which will not be the case after the battle of

21* "I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My
mountains," says the Lord GOD. "Every man's sword will be
against his brother.
22* "And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and
bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on
the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great
hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23* "Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I
will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall
know that I am the LORD."'

son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, `Thus says the
